Just a few weeks after announcing the acquisition of InfraDNA , the Hudson CI leader, and raising 4m USD from Matrix Partners and private investors, we are very proud to announce today the acquisition of Stax Networks.

Stax Networks was the first company to deliver a full fledged Java PaaS back in 2008. Since then, more than 3’000 applications have been deployed to it, with some customers such as Lose It! running more than 5’000 transactions a minute on it. Founders of Stax Networks include JJ Allaire (founder of Allaire Corp, acquired by Macromedia) and Spike Washburn (founding member of the WebSphere team, then JRun). The Stax Networks team has now joined CloudBees.

What that means is that CloudBees is now the first and only JVM-based PaaS that spans the entire application lifecycle, from development, build, test to production, in a completely integrated fashion , in the cloud. This clearly positions CloudBees as the PaaS innovation leader .

If you want to get a preview of what to expect, register for tomorrow’s webcast.

Oh, and while this runs in the cloud, this is not vaporware : you’ll be able to try it for yourself in just a few weeks, so stay tuned…

Onward,
Sacha
