I am excited to share some very important news with you today.
The Amazing CloudBees Journey
In the last decade, I’ve had the immense privilege of participating in the CloudBees journey, to be part of an amazing adventure with an amazing family. When we created CloudBees in 2010, few probably imagined we would become a flagship DevOps company with over $100 million in annual revenue! This has only been possible thanks to the relentless passion, creativity and execution of all Bees.
The next phase of our journey is going to be even more exciting! As of today, you won’t need to custom build parts of your software delivery: All of CloudBees Software Delivery Automation is available as a single unified product, from CI to CD to ARO. It is a single system of record to orchestrate all of your core software delivery PROCESSES, the DNA of your organization. And just two months ago, we launched Software Delivery Management, the system of record for all of the DATA associated with your software delivery. PROCESSES AND DATA define how you craft software and who you are.
How to go from $100 million to $1 billion...and beyond
Last year, as we were starting to plan the next phase of this journey, I reflected on what it would mean to go towards IPO and beyond. I decided that the type of leadership needed to scale from $0 to $100 million will be different than what it takes to go to $250 million, $500 million, $1 billion and beyond! In parallel, I also came to realize that I could have a bigger and better impact at CloudBees by doing more of what I truly enjoy – focusing on corporate strategy, product strategy and alliances, and spending more time sharing our vision with the market.
Introducing Stephen DeWitt, our new CEO
So, after a thoughtful process, I’m super excited to announce that Stephen DeWitt is the new CEO of CloudBees. Stephen comes from a distinguished background in technology and has been spotted by, recruited for and reported to some of the best leaders in our industry, including the CEOs of Symantec, Cisco and HP. He has run multi-billion dollar, razor-thin margin businesses and enabled them to thrive. He has founded and served as CEO of multiple companies and he has driven companies through IPO and multi-billion dollar acquisitions.
As for me, I’m working very closely with Stephen and the rest of the Hive at CloudBees, as chief strategy officer.
Please join me in welcoming Stephen to the Hive! The future of CloudBees is bright and I am excited to have a leader with his experience, energy and insight to take us into our next phase.
Onward,
Sacha
