Steven Harris, Recognized Java Leader, Joins CloudBees as Senior Vice President of Products

Former Oracle Senior Executive Sees Revolutionary Changes Underway to the Way Java Applications are Built and Deployed with Java in the Cloud

WOBURN, MA. - September 27, 2011 - CloudBees, Inc. , the Java Platform as a Service (PaaS) innovation leader, today announced former Oracle Senior Vice President Steven Harris has joined CloudBees as Senior Vice President of Products. In his new role, Harris will oversee all product strategy, product management and product development activities. With more than 13 years of Java expertise, Harris is a recognized authority on Java technologies in the enterprise. He is regularly called upon to speak at industry conferences around the world - Serverside Symposium, EclipseCon, OSCON, and JavaOne, among others - to provide the more than nine million Java developers worldwide with insights on the future of Java.

Harris has a broad background in engineering, product management, and business development primarily focused on enterprise software development. Prior to joining CloudBees, he managed Oracle's Java server development team as senior vice president of server technologies. Harris joined Oracle in 1997 to manage development of the Java virtual machine for the Oracle8i release. Following that, his role expanded to include the entire Java platform, including Enterprise Edition technologies in the Oracle Application Server, WebLogic, and GlassFish product lines.
