SAN JOSE, CA. – January 29, 2018 – CloudBees , the hub of enterprise Jenkins and DevOps, today announced that CloudBees and Jenkins , the leading open source automation server, have been named winners in DevOps.com ’s DevOps Dozen Awards. CloudBees CEO Sacha Labourey and CTO Kohsuke Kawaguchi have been jointly awarded Best DevOps Solution Provider Executive, and Jenkins has been awarded Best DevOps Open Source Project. Additionally, a CloudBees customer, Capital One, was awarded Best DevOps Transformation.
“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Labourey. “Kohsuke and I have always shared the same vision for continuous delivery and DevOps. With Kohsuke’s deep technical background and ongoing leadership in the Jenkins community, and the CloudBees focus on continuous innovation, we executed on that vision in 2017. We will continue to do so in 2018.”
“This recognition from DevOps.com speaks to the dedication and diligence of the entire Jenkins community,” said Kawaguchi. “Continuous delivery adoption is more important than ever for organizations to keep up with software demands, and we’re proud that Jenkins is front and center of this industry-wide transformation.”
This is the second consecutive year Jenkins has won the Best DevOps Open Source Project award. With over 1.5 million users worldwide, Jenkins is the most widely deployed continuous delivery automation server in the world. Last April, the Jenkins community announced the official release of Blue Ocean , a dramatic new UX implementation that brought a new user experience to Jenkins, enabling teams to more easily adopt CD. Jenkins continues to be a staple for developers with about 90 percent1 of users considering Jenkins to be mission-critical to their development and/or delivery process. Additionally, in 2017 CloudBees introduced CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise and CloudBees DevOptics , enabling DevOps teams to more readily transform software delivery and gain visibility into software delivery pipelines that span multiple teams, groups or divisions.
“CloudBees and Jenkins are household names in the DevOps industry,” said Alan Shimel, editor-in-chief of DevOps.com . “Sacha and Kohsuke never stop asking, ‘What’s next for DevOps and CD,’ and this really shines through in their work at CloudBees and in the Jenkins community.”
